![]() So the characters start predetermined but you can customize their names and upgrade their abilities & equipment between missions. ![]() Having full character creation mode wouldn't work, because you could very easily screw up the game balance - i.e. I'm sorry I sounded vague, it's not intentional at all! You start the game with three characters, each with their unique abilities that complement each other. Yes, there is a lead character (or three, depends how you view it!). Unless your saying your beginning character has premade arch type character choices to start as? Is there no lead protagonist that you play as? I just had hoped I could make my character as a caster Druid type. Originally posted by Hexton:ok thanks, I understand your companions being predefined as who they are. Also the Druidstone Editor, planned to be released as a post-launch update, should provide new challenges in the form of user made missions and even entirely new campaigns. Missions can be replayed to hunt those objectives. Every mission has bonus objectives and unless you are a tactical mastermind you probably won't complete them on the first try. Wouldn't this hurt replayability? Yes and no. ![]() Chess would not be the same game if you could choose your own pieces - why not make every piece a queen? Think of it more like chess than a RPG with statistical approach to combat. Also each mission has been carefully designed around the characters and their limitations. Each character has a different set of abilities which complement each other nicely. The battles are centered around clever use of abilities at the right time rather than statistics. The characters are predefined because it makes the tactical battles more interesting. The characters are predefined at the start of the game but they can learn new abilities and upgrade equipment and abilities using the power gems rewarded by completing missions.
